Services Overview

  Asphalt Paving

The word ‘asphalt’ is used to refer to a mixture of mineral aggregate and bitumen. Asphalt pavement can be used in the construction of new roads, driveways, parking lots, sidewalks, and tennis courts. It is also used to resurface existing surfaces that are damaged. For Gabriel’s, installing new asphalt and repairing damaged asphalt is just one of our specialties. For an asphalt paving job to be done right, you need to have the right equipment, proper materials, and experienced individuals on a cohesive crew who know how to use the tools provided. At Gabriel Contractor’s we believe in providing superior workmanship that in turn creates value for the customer.

  Seal Coating

What is Seal Coat?

Seal coat is a petroleum-based liquid that is applied to asphalt.

Why Seal Coat?

Asphalt Driveways and Parking Lots are porous. Water is the number one enemy of pavement. Water penetrating to the base will disrupt that base and lead to cracking which can turn into potholes or worse. Seal coating protects the asphalt against water penetration. It can also protect against gas and oil spills as well as UV rays. It also helps to protect asphalt from oxidation and the damage caused by other environmental factors, specifically winter cracking. Since Upstate New York experiences freezing and thawing in the winter months, sealcoat should be applied every two or three summers. Protecting pavement with seal coating has basically the same effect as using sunscreen on your skin or varnish on wood because it slows down the destructive effects of the climate. Seal coating also fills minor voids in the surface. Other benefits include creating uniform color and appearance.

At Gabriel Contractors, we only use sand sealer. It is not watered down compared to some competitors. We also hand apply the product rather than use spray application. Hand application fills some of the voids better than spray. In addition, we use hot rubber crack sealing for cracks 1/4″ and larger (the rubber is not capable of penetrating the smallest cracks to be effective). This is crucial to providing customers with proper seal coating.

Concrete is made up of three basic components: water, aggregate (rock, sand, or gravel) and cement. Cement, usually in powder form, acts as a binding agent when mixed with water and aggregates. This combination, or concrete mix, will be poured and harden into the durable material with which we are all familiar. In conjunction with our asphalt paving services, our experienced crew offers concrete services that include construction of concrete driveways, patios, foundations, garage floors, sidewalks, curbs, and slabs. We serve both residential and commercial clients with the same capacity, experience, and precision as we do with our asphalt-paving customers!

Services include: dig-outs and removal, drainage solutions (catch basins, swales, water diversion), and demolition of various sized structures (from houses to small buildings).

  Snow Plowing/Removal

Aside from the services listed above, we also specialize in offering snow plowing services for those unstable winter months. Whether it is a small driveway or parking lot, our team at Gabriel’s can take the backbreaking shoveling burden off of your shoulders for the entire winter season. Snow accumulation can cause hazardous conditions for employers, their customers, and everyday individuals; making high traffic areas such as driveways and parking lots entirely impassible, slippery, and unsafe. That is why you should let Gabriel’s provide our snow plowing services to you in order to eliminate the responsibility of shoveling, as well as leave your high traffic areas safe for you, your customer(s) and/or your family and friends.
And for anyone who is wary about the danger of tearing up driveways, curbs, and landscaping, you can be rest assured that the crew at Gabriel Contractor’s prides itself in using special care in maintaining the current state of its customer’s property during snow plowing/removal.
